The apostle Paul answered this in several places, but let us look at one of Pauls teachings that explains it well. He said: "As in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive" (I Corinthians 15:22). Now since all humans on earth today have come from Adam, and they all die, then the corollary of Pauls statement is that all descendants of Adam are now "in Christ" (the second or last Adam) and they will all be made alive. The "alls" in this verse must be all inclusive or else Paul makes no sense whatever. The answer is: the statement in II Timothy 1:9 which states that salvation in Christ was afforded by grace, and not according to any persons works, before the world began, must apply to all men who come from Adam. We all die because we are descendants of our first physical parent Adam. But we will all be made alive by our attachment to Christ Jesus (the first spiritual "Adam"). We were placed "in Christ" even before the foundation of the world and there is nothing that can separate us from him (Romans 8:38,39).
