What is the proper order of the Old Testament books?

Any Bible translation by the Jewish Publication Society will place the books in their proper divisions (three divisions as Christ said Luke 24:44,45). The proper order is that from Genesis to the Book of Chronicles as shown by Christ in Matthew 23:35 where "Abel" is found in Genesis and "Zacharias." the last martyr, is found in Chronicles. The three divisions are

  1. THE LAW: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers Deuteronomy (5 in number);
  2. THE PROPHETS: Joshua/Judges, The Book of Kings ( our I and II Samuel and I and II Kings), Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and one book called The Twelve (totaling 6 books in division two);
  3. The WRITINGS (or, The PSALMS DIVISION): Psalms, Proverbs, Job, Song of Solomon, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, Esther, Daniel, Ezra/Nehemiah, Chronicles (I and II Chronicles) (11 books in division three).

This makes 22 books in the original numbering, while the King James Version has further divided those exact original 22 Old Testament books (erroneously) to number 39.
